Hello,
Do you think it’s possible to retain an original Silverface Dual Showman Reverb chassis in it’s head form and then install 2 x 8″ speakers inside the head cabinet to convert the head into a combo?
I think the SF Dual Showman sounds great and it will be really cool that it can be carried around in a very portable form.
Thanks much for your help!
Best,
Phil

Yes, for sure, I’ve got one. You could probably get three 8’s in there if you had to.
3X8 ohm parallel is a nice sound for a Fender amp.
I used the ceramic Jupiter 8, great sounding speaker the only hitch being they don’t move a lot of air.
The 2×8 Showman is literally a miniature Twin Reverb. Sounds exactly like a Twin minus the volume. .
I’ve pushed mine pretty hard without blowing up the speakers but I’m sure i could toast it on demand.
So, back to the top with the 3×8 idea.
Haven’t tried it yet, but one extra speaker might really make a diff for both power handling and versatility.
Mather Cabs made my 2×8 head. Highly recommended.
